DC Travels

Back in the day I would make sub sites for any neat piece of content. Now that I've got the rolling content (4/20/04) this is dumb. So I rolled the "dc" subsite up into this meta-entry.

I was living in apartments at North Taft street in Arlington. I was right across the river from DC and could see the Washington Monument out my window. I was sharing a two bedroom apartment with one of my co-workers from the Jersey City office. He headed home most weekends, leaving the place all to me.

Since I didn't have any friends out there (I had a few in Denver), I decided to bring along my PS2 so that I could keep up with Anime that Adam lends me. I may even play a few games while I'm out here. I successfully beat Grand Theft Auto and Onimusha while out there.

For the most part, I stayed hunched down in my room over my laptop. Unlike the Cambridge and Denver apartments, this place only had one phone line. That means I couldn't be online and on the phone at the same time. Well, the real issue is that my roommate and I couldn't be online at the same time. Did I mention that we're both geeks?

Unfortunately, I didn't work at the office. I'm working at the client office which is about a half hour drive away from the apartments. It's felt strange driving to work since I hadn't done it for the past two years. Then I got to help pollute the environment. I did get a really cool photo Id though!

One of my largest complaints about my time in Denver was the lack of food places within walking distance. Well, it was worse in D.C.! There was nothing within walking distance. So we actually had to drive to get lunch. That is quite lame.

D.C. this time... (11/5/2001)-(12/14/2001)

On the road again, and this time it was to D.C., the anthrax capital of the world. I hadn't been to D.C. in quite some time though, so I was a little excited about going, though the duration was longer than I wanted it to be.

I'm was out there working with one of the staples of the American economy. The help banks gives loans and reduce home loan prices throughout the country.

A Visit to Yale (11/16/2001)-(11/18/2001)

My brother is currently attending Yale University. He has some quite intelligent friends out there whose basically have a full time job of understand international politics. I think meeting them was a good reaffirmation of my belief that we should in fact elect other people to make these decisions for us.
